I can still recall the news of EVD listed on Bursa, titled “EVD debuts on ACE Market at 26 sen per share” that was on 1st July 2022. Now, 19 months later the share price is at 12 sen. This counter supposed to be the rising star in the transportation industry.
Dear fellow investors, this year should be a wonderful start for EVD. I heard that the company received in total not less than four LOA/LOI. I just can’t understand that why the company didn’t make announcement of the projects.
The share price was indeed on the rise when rumor flying around that EVD was about the make announcement on the coming projects. The price rose from historically low 0.09 to 0.15, the momentum showed sign that this counter was on the aggressive move again after completion of MRT-2 project. But on the news of suspension of its co-founder then the share price dove 20% lower. Just wonder why the market reacted this way?
When I made decision to invest in this company it was because I saw the potential and energy of this company. It virtually grew from zero to one of the key players in transportation industry; KTMB, MRT-1, MRT-2, Monorail, various highways are under its belt. The company was strategically expanding its portfolio and venturing into healthcare and smart city. All in all, every move seems like it was so ready to kick up a gear or two.
Now, I am very concerned with the current situation. The company is not only being sued by suppliers and sub-contractors. And I also heard from rumour, the pillars of EVD, who have been with EVD since the early days, and successfully delivered big projects i.e. MRT, KTM, highway, hospital are walking out in mass. Those who are leaving the company include the C-level, general manager, project directors and key members of project teams. Without them, can EVD still execute projects? Just wonder what is the recovery plan for EVD?
Is it in the best interest of the company to have a connected person serves as CFO/Head of Finance?? How about check and balance, conflict of interest??? The share price says it all...
Recently, MACC visited EVD HQ and talked to one of the co-founders. Anyone can provide further comment on this? I would like to have clarification on -- was this related or NOT related to EVD's business? And what was the action taken by the company/board in handling this event?
