KUALA LUMPUR: The FBM KLCI tracked other Asian markets higher on Thursday, buoyed by gains in banking stocks, YTL Power and QL Resources.
At closing, the market bellwether rose 4.34 points, or 0.28% to 1,544.76, with 18 of the component stocks ending higher while seven counters fell.
The market traded within a range of 9.78 points between an intra-day high of 1,548.46 and a low of 1,538.68 during the session.
On the broader market, gainers outnumbered losers 570 to 469, with 3.84 billion shares worth RM2.62bil changing hands.
