“在大流行病之前，我们的中国合作伙伴就对印象城项目有着非常大的兴趣，因为又见马六甲（Encore Melaka）剧院的概念非常注重中国文化遗产，成功吸引了来自中国的投资者。当然，一些投资者因为冠病严重打击旅游业而退缩。然而，随着经济逐步重新开放，我们看到中国投资者的兴趣再度重燃。”

事实上，在协议中委任郑和国际商业文化中心和东方印象城的英国佳德，认为马六甲和印象城的发展非常符合英国佳德的初步计划。

英国佳德曾提出在伦敦市中心打造包含中国商业和文化元素的108层楼中欧大厦（EU-China Tower）。不过，由于英国政府更迭和脱欧，这项目被暂停，而英国佳德决定更换目标，在东盟实现这一想法。

巫光伦指出，尽管印象城项目的发展进度受到冠病疫情影响，但永大集团要通过印象城将马六甲转变成国际旅游中心和房地产中心的愿景，始终不变。

他说：“尽管冠病疫情拖延进度，但本集团依然誓言将马六甲打造成一个国际旅游和房地产中心。

随着经济和旅游活动逐步重启，我们有信心印象城的愿景将能实现。我们期待和中国伙伴有更好的合作，加速发展印象城。”
