KUALA LUMPUR (April 24): Jiankun International Bhd has inked a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Micro Energy Holdings (M) Sdn Bhd to equip one of its residential developments named Taman Panchor Jaya in Nibong Tebal, Penang, with solar photovoltaic (PV) systems.

Taman Panchor Jaya is a double-storey landed residential development that is spread across a 7.58-acre (3.07-hectare) tract. It comprises 116 units, and has a gross development value of RM72.69 million. The project is expected to be completed in July 2026. Through the MOU, the units will be equipped with a minimum of 2.2 kW of solar PV systems. 

In a press statement on Wednesday, Jiankun executive director and chief executive officer Edwin Silvester Das said, “This initiative with Micro Energy is more than an advancement in our project portfolio; it is a leap towards a greener Malaysia. Integrating sustainable solutions like solar energy into our luxury housing development, we aim to create not just homes, but a legacy of environmentally responsible living.

“The partnership between Jiankun and Micro Energy for the Taman Panchor Jaya @ Nibong Tebal project reflects our foresight in melding luxury with eco-efficiency. We are steering the Malaysian property market towards a horizon where luxury and sustainability co-exist,” Edwin added. 

Concurring with Edwin, Jiankun executive director Datuk Donald Lim said, “This green initiative aligns with Malaysia’s aspirations for sustainable urban development, and supports the nation’s agenda to reduce its carbon footprint. The project promises to lower energy costs for residents, increase the value of their properties, and contribute to the overall welfare by fostering a healthier environment.”
