Boardroom reshuffles at Silver Ridge

KUALA LUMPUR (April 1): Telecommunication service provider Silver Ridge Holdings Bhd has appointed Lee Wei Chiek as its new group chief executive officer, effective Monday.

Lee, 42, obtained his Masters in Science in Land Administration and Development from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia. He began his career in oil & gas offshore platform engineering design and fabrication, before being appointed as projects directors for various projects.

Silver Ridge has also appointed Datuk Khoo Yik Chou, 37, as the group managing director, transitioning from his previous position of chief financial officer.

Meanwhile, Syauqat Datuk Mohd Suhaimi, 31, has been redesignated to deputy group managing director from group managing director, replacing his brother Syakur Datuk Mohd Suhaimi, 37, who has been redesignated to executive director.
 
Both Syauqat and Syakur are the sons of Silver Ridge’s founder and the largest shareholder, Datuk Mohd Suhaimi, who owns a 10.91% stake, Bloomberg data showed. Khoo holds a 5.14% direct stake and a 0.08% indirect stake in the group.

Meanwhile, Beh Pei Fhen, 36, has been appointed as Silver Ridge’s new CFO.

Shares in Silver Ridge closed 5.5 sen or 15.49% higher at 41 sen on Monday, valuing the company at RM91.27 million.

The counter saw heavy selling pressure early this year, with a drop of 64.96% year to date.
