KUALA LUMPUR (Sept 15): Furniture and plastic ware business firm SWS Capital Bhd has appointed Ronnie Liu Tian Khiew as its new independent and non-executive director, effective Sept 15.

Liu, 65, served as Sg Pelek assemblyman from 2018 until August 2023. He quit Pakatan Harapan component party DAP in June this year, signalling an exit from politics.

Prior to joining politics, the DAP veteran worked in the advertising and copywriting industry, including the advertising department of Chinese newspaper, the Malayan Tong Bao. He also served as editor and writer at The Glasshouse magazine.
