Maybank long term dividend policy is 40-60% from net profit. That’s on paper. But MBB has the tendency to pay more. Normally between 70% to 80%.

With DRIP it can go up to 90% payout.

Example for FY 2020. Go read DRIP #19 & #20
By using DRIP MBB retained 3.2B cash for FY2020.

Using the DRIP again for FY21, maybank retained 2.1 B cash.

Soh, with all due respect, I don’t see any validity in your point. Do you mind backing it up with facts & numbers ?

FYI, from what I have gather, MBB has been maximizing its ability to pay more than it supposed to pay. Partly due to “external” pressure ( which is a long story itself ).

Look at MBSB EPS FY22 first - how much ?
Then look at MBSB EPS for FY23 so far .. how much ? Just wait another week for QR bro

See how much they will pay dividend this round ?

For the first 9 months combined, they only made 2.66 sen per share !

Unless Q4, they make 6 sen per share. Then they can pay 8.5 sen dividend - 100% payout without retaining any profit
