Normally holding companies are always at discount and range between 0.5 to 1.1 aganist NTA. You can see Sunway, IGB, HapSeng and etc.. the share price are always below the NTA. So I think they value Genting at around 0.65 on the RM8.26 NTA which equivalent to RM5.36 due to underperforming on GenM and slower recovery but once the profit for subsequent quarters turning better perhaps the valuation will go higher. Bank valuation normally by book value also range below 1 except Public Bank

After Lim family sell loss company to genm.. Really underperformed And keep pump money into Catskill
Most welcome Vin. Ya true catskill really a drag of GenM. Hopefully its able to sold Miami land at good price and successful bid for the New York license then perhaps they may consolidate US market and get rids not performing assets or perhaps eventually possible of listing of GenUS. Then Genting will have GenM, GenS and GenUS but they need consolidate Genting Las Vegas and New York under 1 only will be GenUS I think as now Genting hold Las Vegas and GenM hold others US operations.
Let's wait next month quarter report release, if the report announce better than expectation then share price will reflect it. Plus dividend will be announce next month too...
Ya.. hope for a good one Choo and good luck to all Genting and GenM shareholders. Eventhough Genting has been going through tough times for pass few yrs however LKT seem never stop pursuing for more.. from his yrs of taking over Genting as a solely casino and resorts operator in Malaysia to now which have presence in Singapore, US, UK, Egypt and etc not easy tasks too. Expanding to Oil and Gas, Plantation, Power, Property and BioTech becoming a conglomerate.
Kyory. Just my 2cent.. I just expect the price will recover maybe next year.. Since asia now too many casino now... In the future.. Japan & Thailand will having casino as well... Didn't expect much will shooting up RM8 or more...
Last time the gaming tax is low... And only few casino in Asia..
Land-based Casinos are banned in Thailand under the Gambling Act 1935 whereas 1st casino of Japan will be opened in western city of Osaka in 2029. Still won't post a threat to Genting for now
Too many illegal slots gambling Clubs in kL Selangor , kept increasing new slots machines & gambling programs new latest games, everyone every races can freely go in gambling 24 hours, all new Clubs freely can open every places, Genm income sure dropped every day ! Gorverment must take action against gambling Licenses Rules & Regulations.
