KUALA LUMPUR (May 9): Hong Leong Investment Bank (HLIB) Research has initiate coverage on Hibiscus Petroleum Bhd at RM1.40 with a “Buy” recommendation and a target price (TP) of RM1.85 based on the NPV of all of its producing assets’ future cash flows (FCF) – based on each asset’s targeted lifespan.

In a note on Monday (May 9), the research house said it strongly believes that investors have not priced in the exquisite prospects of Hibiscus’s profits and cash flows in the upcoming quarters – mainly from: (i) additional production volumes from the completed acquisition of FIPC (Repsol) assets in Jan 2022; and (ii) significantly higher crude oil prices.

HLIB is forecasting Hibiscus’s core net profit to increase more than 3x to RM336.2 million in FY22 and to rise yet again by another 86% to RM625.6 million in FY23 – representing a superior CAGR of 146%.
“Our average realised crude oil price assumptions for the group is relatively conservative at US$90/bbl for FY22 and FY23,” it said.

maybank estimat tp of RM 1.9 is Conservative based on next qr. RM 4? maybe not in near future, we will see...investor need to understand prospct and valuation lah..if result next qr is in line with expectations or more, tp of RM 1.9 is quite likely. production increase by 3 fold , asp of oil prices higher then last quarter , profit increased by 2 fold? Conservative will be around 20 mil. company didn't apply debt to buy repsol oil field , so equity increased too

When Hibiscs gets public listed, Hibiscs has to float some shares to market. Hibiscs engaged investment bank to do this.
This investment banks hold Hibiscs shares. No matter how high Hibiscs climbs, there always someone who wants to sell. Strange right? They are actually investment banks. They also want to get their share. This is what they do.

There is another way why this happen. Major shareholders also want to make money. So, they appoint proxies to trade for them. One of Hibiscs directors owns a company in Singapore which there was a rumour Hibiscs was going to list in SGX. The info was purposely leaked to TheEdge. And Hibiscs reacted immediately the next day.

I donno which price it will close at... I cannot predict that like 3 comedians did.... I only know until Fridays hibiscus didn't close lower then 1.27... Should be still considering uptrend... If lower than 1.27... Bottom support should be Rm1.2... U guys decide on your own based on your average price....
