Dato Zakaria is board member in Koperasi Permodalan Felda Malaysia Berhad. He has fellowship in International Society of Nanoscience, Cambridge, UK and membership organisation in Vistage Worldwide Inc. USA for CEO and business owners of SME. He also holds position as advisor in Malaysia Robotic and Automation Society, Mobile Food Trucks and Street Food Association and Sekolah Agama Rakyat at Felda Palong 1, N.S.

Dato Zakaria has vast experience in palm oil sector from up-stream, mid-stream to down-stream, managing approximately 440,000 hectares plantation in Malaysia and Indonesia and the production of 3 million MT of CPO from 68 mills across Malaysia. He is in charge of developing and improving technologies and innovative approaches to be applied in upstream, midstream and downstream operations through R&D and producing palm oil downstream products, which include the conversion of CPO and Palm Kernel into value-added products, turning waste to wealth, biomass energy etc. In previous years, Dato has also involved in rubber industries such as producing premium rubber (SMR, SIR, SCR) as well as Latex Concentrate, rubber glove and synthetic rubber industries for dentisy and sterile gloves for electronic sector. He was responsible in increasing the revenue stream by producing specialty rubber and stringent tyre manufacturers for Europe, China, Japan and other markets. Dato has also worked in Malaysia Cocoa Manufacturing (MCM), a JV company between Nestle Switzerland and Felda and he is one of the key personnels in marketing of cocoa products to international manufacturers. 

Dato possesses skills in shipping, currency hedging, positioning and commodity analysis especially for commodities trading (eg. CPO, Sugar, Cocoa Products, Rubber) and experienced in liquid storage, grain terminal and purchase of fertilizer for plantation.
