AGREEMENT SIGNING CEREMONY FOR RENEWABLE ENERGY SUPPLY (SARE) FOR PHOTOVOLTIC SOLAR WITHOUT CAPITAL AT THE ROOF OF JPS PERLIS OFFICE BETWEEN PERLIS STATE GOVERNMENT AND MESTRON ENERGY SDN BHD
Date : 05 July 2023 (Wednesday)
Time : 3.30 PM
Venue: Movement Room 1, Level 3 of State Legislative Hall Complex, Kangar Perlis Vision Tour
YAB Tuan Mohd Shukri bin Ramli, the Minister of Perlis has attended the Sealing Ceremony of Renewable Energy Supply (SARE) Agreement For Photovoltic Solar Without Capital On the Roof of the JPS Perlis Office Between the State Government of Perlis, Tenaga Nasional Berhad and Mestron Energy Sdn Bhd. The State Government of Peralis is represented by the Minister of Peralis while National Energy represented by Mr Wan Ishak bin Soed, TNB General Manager of the State of Kedah/Perlis and Mestron Energy Sdn Bhd represented by YBhg. Dato Mohd Zain bin Mahamood, Director of Mestron Energy Bhd and witnessed by YB Dato’ Yusran Shah bin Mohd Yusof, Secretary of the State Government of Perlis.
JPS Perlis has adopted green energy by becoming a customer of Green Electricity Tariff (GET) from TNB, starting GET introduced in January 2021. JPS Perlis has received commitment from Mestron who is willing to invest photovoltic solar at the JPS Perlis office without any cost that has to be borne by the state government. Mestron has obtained a SEDA Malaysia quota for photovoltaic solar installation work at the JPS Perlis office as early as July 2022.
Mestron is among the few investors who want to invest in a small solar system, under 100kw capacity through the Renewable Energy Supply Agreement (SARE), as Mestron conducts their own projects as solar contractors registered with SEDA Malaysia, CIDB and the Energy Commission. Here's the added value of Mestron as they'll give local children in the north of the peninsula the opportunity for further works and installations maintenance for the next 20 years. This solar system in JPS is able to save Perlis State Government utility expenses around RM550 a month.
Also present YB Tuan Mohd Radhi bin Abas, Perlis State Legal Advisor, YB Tuan Haji Zepri bin Saad, Perlis State Finance Officer, YBrs. Ir. Mahidi Bin Mahamood, Director of Irrigation and Drainage Department of the State of Perlis, Puan Azian binti Alias, General Manager TNB State Perlis, Mr Por Teong Eng Chairman of Mestron Holding Berhad and Representatives from JPS, TNB and Mestron Holding Berhad.
