Anyways, if no gst is introduced next year, no gst will be introduced throughout this Madani term because the timing is bad to do it in 2026, give chance for opposition to attack.
If gst is introduced next year 2025, by the time of next general election in Nov 2027, people would get used to it and might not be as annoyed as when it's firstly implemented.
On the other hand, GST with lower rate appears to be popular option. As a goverment Its very hard to resist such temptation where it allows goverment to please everybody for eg more benefits for public servant, more projects, and not cake will be stolen.
Why? For obvious reasons due to Madani's administration spending expansion, it's either cutting ron95 subsidy or increase tax revenue. Bear in mind Madani support base by large is M40, and stealing the cake from the support base doesn't sound very wise.
