Boustead Plantations Bhd (BPlant)
KUALA LUMPUR: Transactions in the shares of Boustead Plantations Bhd (BPlant) will be suspended immediately after the expiry of five market days from the closing date of the last acquisition by January 5, 2024. BPlant said the Armed Forces Fund Board (LTAT), which made the decision mandatory unconditional takeover offer for all remaining shares in the company at a price of RM1.55 per share, has received valid acceptance under the offer and has acquired the offer shares." This has resulted in LTAT and persons acting in concert (PAC) collectively holding 2.02 million BPlant shares, representing 90.26 percent of the total issued shares of BPlant as of 5 pm on 22 December 2023," he said in a notification to Bursa Malaysia today. LTAT has extended the takeover offer until 5 January 2024, starting from 22 December 2023. BPlant said, considering LTAT and PAC collectively hold more than 90 percent of its shares, and LTAT does not intend to maintain the company's listing status on the Main Market, Bursa Malaysia Securities Bhd (Bursa Securities) will immediately suspend trading of BPlant's shares."After that, LTAT will get BPlant to take the necessary steps to withdraw its listing status from the Official List in accordance with paragraph 16.07 Listing Requirements."Therefore, if Bplant is delisted from the Official List as a result of LTAT and PAC collectively holding 90 percent or more of BPlant's shares, BPlant's shares will cease to be traded in the Main Market of Bursa Securities," he said. Despite the above, the offer will remain open for acceptance until 5pm on Friday, January 5, 2024, he added. -BERNAMA
