PUTRAJAYA (July 13): Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad has been discharged from the National Heart Institute (IJN) after being admitted for “fatigue-related issues” Sunday morning.

“Dr M has been allowed home as of 4.45pm,” his aide Sufi Yusoff told a media chat group at 5.14pm. He had earlier said Dr Mahathir is expected to be back home by this evening.

Dr Mahathir, who turned 100 three days ago on July 10, was at a birthday celebration in Putrajaya Sunday morning, but left with his wife around 10am before cutting the cake, according to Astro Awani.

Dr Mahathir had reportedly driven himself to the event and cycled around the Putrajaya Lake before attending the birthday event, which was also to celebrate his wife Tun Dr Siti Hasmah Mohamad Ali’s 99th birthday on Saturday (July 12).
