KUALA LUMPUR (Oct 6): The October 7 issue of City & Country features an interview with the sibling duo spearheading the management of Titijaya Land Bhd.

Since taking over the reins from their father and the company's founder Tan Sri Lim Soon Peng in 2021, Datuk Lim Poh Yit, group managing director, and his sister Charmaine, the group’s executive director, have been making strides in navigating the company amid the uncertain economic landscape caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.

The company has embarked on a diversification strategy, moving beyond the traditional build-and-sell concept. This includes a foray into logistics development in Bayan Lepas, Penang, followed by a hotel venture with Ascott Limited in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. Furthermore, they have other ongoing projects in the Klang Valley, with several residential projects in the pipeline.

Meanwhile, according to The Edge Malaysia|Knight Frank Kuala Lumpur and Selangor Office Monitor 2Q2024, the overall office market in Kuala Lumpur and Selangor recorded a positive performance in the second quarter of 2024, backed by growth in occupancy rates and rents.

In central London, residential property sales showed no signs of slowing in the lead-up to the UK general election in July 2024, recording a 14% quarter-on-quarter growth in 2Q2024.

In a separate story, the real estate industry’s most distinguished professionals from Singapore gathered for the inaugural Realtors Round Table in the island republic on Sept 13. The exclusive event honoured individuals who demonstrated exemplary performance, unwavering consistency and the ability to embody high ethical standards within the real estate profession.

Furthermore, Singapore is on course for its worst year in new-home sales since the 2008 global financial crisis. Property purchase curbs and high interest rates have deterred buyers, and borrowers are unlikely to get much relief any time soon.

As shareholders, we expect some dividends to be declared since the company is making profit. But 3 months had been passed after financial year. What's happening to the Board of Directors?? Do you take care of the minority shareholders??
