KUALA LUMPUR (April 14): Atta Global Group Bhd's shares and warrants will be traded under its new name Mayu Global Group Bhd with effect from next Tuesday (April 18).

The new stock short name will be “Mayu”,  replacing the old stock short name “Atta”, the company said in a bourse filing.

Atta had in a circular to shareholders last month said the change of name will better reflect the company’s new corporate identity and vision, which will align with the changes in its existing and future undertakings.

“The words 'ma' and 'yu' are Chinese characters which signify “success and prosperity” and “goodwill” respectively,” the company said.

Atta said all 26 shareholders present at its extraordinary general meeting on April 3 voted for the change of name.

Atta's share price closed 2.5 sen or 8.2% higher at 33 sen on Friday (April 14) , giving the company a market capitalisation of RM119.55 million.
