He is talking about prospect. I believe DNeX is moving in the right direction. Here is why.
1 Technology. DNeX made some investment in new technology in wafer making. They also venture in other technologies e.g. Silicon photonics & Life sciences. New equipment and processes are not cheap. SilTerra needs to produce to a certain quantity before they can start making profit. The company intend to grow this segment further. They have government support on this.
2 Energy. DNeX has a subsidiary, Ping Petroleum. Ping Petroleum is specialized in shallow water Exploration & Production. Petronas awarded Ping Petroleum 3 clusters A, Meranti and Abu. Meranti and Abu cluster are near Terengganu. Ping Petroleum is gearing up in extraction of hydrocarbons in Abu cluster. They also already have FPSO for this. They partner with a local company. Addition to that, Ping Petroleum also has a facility in Kemaman Supply Base. KSB is where all OGSE offshore supporting companies in Terengganu are based. Offshore equipment are special, have proprietary rights and owners or clients have their own preferences. You need licenses and proprietary rights to provide offshore services. Ping Petroleum has this rights. DNeX and Ping Petroleum expect Abu cluster will produce First Oil in 2025. They also anticipates Abu Cluster will produce 2,500 barrels per day worth MYR810,000 a day at USD 75 per barrel. But thats in Malaysia. They also have Avalon and Anasuria cluster in North Sea. But thats another story.
