1) The acquisition of Accurus Scientific in Taiwan not only will boost its revenue, but also expand it's customer portfolio and leverage the combined strength in relation to management team, R&D expertise and business relationship with industry stakeholders.
2) The strong demand of OSAT machines in 2021. I work in a company similar to Mi, and we are "forced" to OT in 2021Q1 due to high orders.
definitely there need a lot of new machines as traditional foundry like Intel and samsung has new competitor like Microsoft, apple who want to venture into making their own chips, on top, don't forget about the chips demands from automotive industry which currently short supply
MI major customer, ASE is one of the top osat player in the world has expand 7 new state of art factory in Taiwan which running fully automation and robotic. MI subsidiaries MI autobotic is the potential beneficial as the result of this expansion.
when MI wanna acquire Taiwan Accurus, they willing to take mi syer instead of taking cash from mi, just indicate that this foreign company is very confident about mi future and prospect.
mi can leverage on Accurus networks to widen and expand their business in Taiwan and as stepping stone to expedite the pace of exploring business opportunities in China market as well
in order for Intel to remain competitive in the market, they start outsourcing their chip making to TSMC as TSMC has the technology to fabricate 3 Nano chip where Intel not able to produce.
