Hi im newbie, wanna ask if i bought shares start from january 2018.do...entitled for the latest shares dividend? Or i need to wait for the next?
And how the dividend being paid to the shareholder?by bank in or any method?

Hi Kenny. Lets take maybank as an example. They recently announced (announcement date 23rd May) a dividend payout with an ex-date of 5th Jun 2018. In order to be entitled to the dividend you will have to own and hold the share until the ex-date and ex-time. So if u have maybank shares since January and you have not sell thr shares till the ex-date you will be entitled to the dividend. Vice-versa, if u have sold the share before the ex-date you wont be entitled to any dividend.

yes, u r entitled for the lastest dividend if u still hold the share until 2/6/18,bcos the cut off time is 2/6/18. the dividend will pay thought bank or cheque.
