We refer to the announcements dated 30 October 2023 and 1 November 2023 ("Announcements").

(Unless otherwise defined, the abbreviations used throughout this announcement are the same as those previously defined in the Announcements.)

On behalf of the Board, Affin Hwang IB is pleased to announce that Bursa Securities had vide its letter dated 14 November 2023, approved the listing of and quotation for up to 24,930,000 Special Issue Shares to be issued pursuant to the Proposed Special Issue, subject to the following conditions:

(i) UMC and Affin Hwang IB must fully comply with the relevant provisions under the Listing Requirements pertaining to the implementation of the Proposed Special Issue;

(ii) UMC and Affin Hwang IB to inform Bursa Securities upon the completion of the Proposed Special Issue;

(iii) UMC to furnish Bursa Securities with a written confirmation of its compliance with the terms and conditions of Bursa Securities’ approval once the Proposed Special Issue is completed; and

(iv) UMC to furnish Bursa Securities with a certified true copy of the resolution passed by shareholders of the Company pursuant to Sections 75 and 76 of the Act, in the event the current general mandate expires prior to the completion of the Proposed Special Issue.
