Encik Azhar bin Ariffin has been appointed as the Managing Director ("MD") of Leader Cable Industry Berhad ("LCIB") in June 2012. LCIB is a company under the umbrella of Leader Universal Holdings Berhad ("LUHB") Group of companies. Prior to the appointment as the MD, he held the post of Head for LUHB Group.Technical and Product Development department since June 2011, covering factories under Cable and Wire Division. The scope of the portfolio covered the product development and improvement activities and technical related aspects in manufacturing as well as the commercial related. He has also been appointed as the representative director for LUHB (the parent company) in the Board of Director of Lite Kabel Sdn. Bhd (an affiliated company of Leader Cable Sdn Bhd) in February 2011 until Dec 2015, overseeing the interests of LUHB as the shareholder. Before the technical post, he was the Head for Sales and Marketing (Export Sector) since April 2009 of an integrated Sales and Marketing Department of Universal Cable (M) Berhad ("UCMB") and LCIB where both are subsidiaries under the parent company of LUHB. The scope of works covered business and market developments and overlooking the overall export markets in the targeted regions of OCEANIA, ASIA, MIDDLE EAST and EUROPE. Before handling the sales' portfolio, he was the Head of Technical section; Design and Quality Assurance Departments of UCMB from the year 2006 to 2009. Prior to that, he was appointed as the Quality Assurance Manager when he initially joined UCMB back in August 2004. As the Head of Technical section, he was responsible for the overall activities in Technical Design and Quality Assurance departments. Prior joining UCMB, he was the Manufacturing Manager of Leader Optic Fibre Cable Sdn. Bhd. from the year 2000 to 2004. As the Manufacturing Manager he was in-charged of the Production and Maintenance departments.
